Purchased 6 tons of 8mm bullet resistant steel (UL 752 Level 8) for equipment enclosure manufacturing. Material properties met specifications with hardness at HB 495 and proper certification documentation. Initial order had some confusion regarding edge preparation requirements - we specified deburred edges but received mill edge condition. Supplier quickly acknowledged the miscommunication and provided complimentary grinding service, adding 8 days to delivery (total 43 days to Toronto). Final product quality was satisfactory for our application protecting mining equipment in remote locations. Ballistic performance verified through our internal testing protocol. Pricing was competitive at $2,650/ton. Would order again but ensure all specifications are explicitly detailed in purchase order to avoid delays.
