| Property | Parameter | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Product Name | ASTM A615 Grade 60 Deformed Steel Rebar | High-strength deformed reinforcing bar for concrete structures |
| Material Grade | Grade 60 (≡ BS4449 B500B / GB HRB400) | Equivalent to 420 MPa yield class in international standards |
| Standard Compliance | ASTM A615/A615M-22 | Standard Specification for Deformed and Plain Steel Bars for Concrete Reinforcement |
| Chemical Composition – Carbon (C) | ≤ 0.30% | Controls hardness and weldability of the rebar |
| Chemical Composition – Manganese (Mn) | ≤ 1.50% | Enhances tensile strength and hardenability |
| Chemical Composition – Phosphorus (P) | ≤ 0.060% | Kept low to prevent brittleness |
| Chemical Composition – Sulfur (S) | ≤ 0.060% | Controlled to maintain ductility and toughness |
| Tensile Strength | ≥ 90,000 psi (620 MPa) | Per ASTM A615/A615M-22 Grade 60 requirement |
| Yield Strength | ≥ 60,000 psi (420 MPa) | Minimum yield strength as specified by ASTM A615 Grade 60 |
| Elongation | ≥ 7% (in 8 in / 200 mm gauge length) | Varies by bar size; ensures adequate ductility for seismic zones |
| Bar Size Range | #3 – #18 (9.5 mm – 57.3 mm diameter) | Standard US bar designations; custom lengths up to 12 m available |
| Length | 6 m / 9 m / 12 m (custom cut available) | Mill standard lengths; cut-to-length service upon request |
| Surface Finish | Hot-rolled deformed (ribbed) surface | Deformation pattern enhances mechanical bond with concrete |
| Application | Buildings, bridges, highways, foundations, retaining walls | Widely used in residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects |
| Certification | Mill Test Report (MTR), ISO 9001:2015, AISC, ACI 318 | Full traceability documentation provided with each shipment |

We ordered a mixed lot of #3, #4, and #6 ASTM A615 Grade 60 rebar for precast panel production, totalling 55 tonnes. On arrival, the #3 and #4 quantities were transposed in the delivery — we received more #4 than specified and short on #3. This created a two-day production delay. To the supplier's credit, they acknowledged the picking error immediately, arranged an expedited top-up shipment of the missing #3 bars within 5 working days, and issued a partial credit. Material quality on all bars was verified against MTRs with no issues. The process improvement they promised seems to have been implemented since.
